God has equipped believers with powerful tools for spiritual warfare, and one of the most potent yet often neglected weapons is the prophetic word. A prophetic word is a personal message from God delivered through someone to encourage, exhort, comfort, or guide another person. Unlike general Bible prophecies, these words speak directly to specific situations, callings, or futures. In 1 Timothy 1:18, Paul instructs Timothy to use prophecies made about him to wage good warfare, indicating these words function as spiritual weapons. Despite some teachings suggesting otherwise, prophecy remains valid for today's church. Acts 2:17-18 clearly states that in the last days, God will pour out His Spirit on all flesh, causing both men and women to prophesy. This gift serves three vital purposes according to 1 Corinthians 14:1-3: edification (building up faith), exhortation (encouraging obedience to God's will), and comfort (consoling the weary). When we receive prophetic words, we should expect them to be tested, require changes in our lives, and demand our active participation through prayer and declaration. By gathering forgotten prophetic words and beginning to war with them again, believers can experience God as 'the restorer of lost treasures' in relationships, opportunities, health, finances, and even time that seems to have been lost.
