Living faithfully between moments of God's manifest glory and the daily grind requires understanding what it means to be a good steward. According to 1 Corinthians 4:2, we must be faithful with what God has entrusted to us rather than constantly looking toward some future moment when things will be better. This means using our time wisely as Ecclesiastes 11:6 instructs—sowing seeds throughout the day and remaining diligent even when enthusiasm wanes. Our routines play a crucial role in this journey. Beneficial routines like Daniel's thrice-daily prayers nourish our spirits, while destructive habits drain us. We must learn to live in the present moment rather than falling into 'out yonder thinking' that blinds us to current blessings. Choosing readiness over restlessness helps us find contentment regardless of circumstances, as Paul learned to do. Most importantly, we need to distinguish between working for God and with God—recognizing His partnership through the Holy Spirit in everything we do, from significant ministry to washing dishes. The space between receiving promises and seeing fulfillment isn't wasted time but preparation for what God has planned.
