As believers, we are called to be salt, light, and leaven in our culture - transformational agents who bring God's kingdom into every sphere of influence. However, our mindset can either empower or hinder the breakthrough God desires to bring through us. Many Christians become fixated on everything wrong in the world, focusing primarily on the enemy's activity rather than recognizing where God is moving and working.The story of Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah illustrates this challenge perfectly. Scripture tells us that Lot was oppressed and tormented by the wickedness around him, allowing his environment to negatively impact his spiritual and emotional well-being. While we acknowledge that dark atmospheres exist, we must learn to turn the tables and remember that we carry divine authority and power. We need an offensive mindset rather than a defensive bunker mentality.This principle traces back to the Garden of Eden, where God placed two trees before Adam and Eve. The Tree of Life represented God's perspective and eternal sustenance, while the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil offered mixed truth that ultimately led to separation and death. Today, we still choose which tree to eat from in our daily thoughts and responses. Through Jesus' sacrifice, we have access to the Tree of Life and can live from God's perspective rather than being governed by condemnation, shame, or fear. When we shift from accusation to intercession, focusing on God's heart of compassion rather than judgment, we position ourselves to be effective agents of transformation who walk in blessing rather than curse.
