The Perfect Blood of Jesus | Grace House in Florence, AL
Why the Blood Is So Important
A sermon by Pastor Eddie Lawrence at Grace House Church in Florence, Alabama.
Scripture reference: Acts 17:26
The blood of Jesus Christ is not a grim or outdated concept. It is the very foundation of how God reconciled a broken world to Himself, and it remains deeply relevant to every believer today. The problem begins with Adam, whose sin introduced a curse that spread through the bloodline of every human being. We are sinners by nature, and that is our inheritance from the first Adam. But Jesus, the last Adam, was born of a virgin, fully God and fully man, with blood that was completely undefiled. He became the only qualified substitute for our sin, and His sacrifice accomplished what centuries of animal offerings could never fully achieve.
Long before Jesus walked the earth, God was weaving this truth throughout Scripture. From the animal skins that covered Adam and Eve, to Abel's blood offering, to the Passover lamb whose blood protected Israel from judgment, every shadow and symbol pointed forward to the moment when Jesus would be declared the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Isaiah wrote about it centuries before the crucifixion. The entire Levitical sacrificial system was a preview of the one perfect offering that was coming.
What the blood of Jesus accomplishes is both profound and personal. It speaks better things than condemnation, granting pardon and peace where the enemy whispers guilt and shame. It establishes a new covenant that gives every believer bold access to God, not through religious performance, but through what Christ has already done. Revelation 12 reminds us that believers overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb, making it not just a historical event but a present spiritual reality. Hebrews 10:14 declares that by one offering, He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. That includes every person who comes to Him in faith. The invitation is to stop approaching God as a beggar and start approaching Him as a child, anchored in the truth that the blood of Jesus is more than enough.
