Ephesians 1-4
Sit, Walk, Stand!

Many believers struggle with uncertainty about their standing before God, constantly wondering if they have done enough to earn His approval. However, the book of Ephesians provides a clear framework for understanding our spiritual journey through three interconnected concepts: sit, walk, and stand. The concept of sitting represents our secure position in Christ. When Jesus declared it is finished on the cross, He completed the work of salvation once and for all. This means we do not work for our salvation but work from our salvation, serving from a place of rest. Our identity as children of God is established before any activity we perform. We are not trying to become worthy but have been made worthy through Christ's finished work. While positioned in heavenly places with Christ, we still live on earth and are called to walk worthy of our calling. This worthy walk is characterized by love, light, wisdom, and unity. We love others as Christ loved us, live as children of light making choices that reflect our true identity, walk in wisdom by seeing life from God's perspective, and maintain unity within the body of Christ. Finally, we must learn to stand firm against spiritual warfare. Our battle is not against people but against spiritual forces of darkness that use deception as their primary weapon. The armor of God represents Christ Himself, and we stand not in our own strength but in the victory He has already won. These three realities work together to establish our victory mindset and transform how we approach our relationship with God and service to Him.
